Floral Park got its name from John Lewis Childs, the seedsman who founded the village in 1874 and named its streets after flowers. More than a century later, those flower-named streets are lined mostly with Cape Cod homes built after World War II for returning veterans, mixed with colonials and some older houses closer to the village center. Capes are one of the best house styles for holiday lights: steep front peaks, compact gutter lines and dormers that look crisp when outlined. We plan every display around the way your home actually sits on its lot and faces the street.
Floral Park is a close village with its own police and fire departments, a busy Tulip Avenue business district and a strong sense of pride in how the streets look. That makes neat, even lighting worth the effort. Our team installs with commercial-grade clips, sets up power extensions and timers, and handles maintenance and bulb replacement throughout the season. When the holidays end, we take everything down and store it for you. Most installs happen within about 48 hours of booking, so your home can be lit before the Chamber's Christmas Festival and Tree Lighting.

Around Floral Park: Village Spots We Love to Light Up Near
Floral Park packs a lot of community life into just under a square and a half miles. The Chamber of Commerce hosts its Christmas Festival and Tree Lighting at Memorial Park, Centennial Gardens offers a quiet bird sanctuary in the middle of town, and the elevated station on Tulip Avenue connects the village to the city. Belmont Park sits right on the village's edge, and the cape-lined blocks in between are where we do most of our work.
Centennial Gardens & Bird SanctuaryA 12-acre former storm basin turned wildflower meadow and bird sanctuary, with a half-mile walking path around the perimeter.
Floral Park Public LibraryThe village library on Caroline Place is part of the Nassau library system and serves Floral Park residents of all ages.
Floral Park LIRR StationThe elevated station at Tulip and Atlantic Avenues took the Floral Park name in honor of florist John Lewis Childs.
Belmont ParkThe newly rebuilt home of the Belmont Stakes borders Floral Park, with live racing continuing into December.

Floral Park Holiday Lighting FAQs
Does Floral Park have rules about holiday lights I should know about?
Floral Park is an incorporated village, so it is always smart to check with Village Hall if you have questions about local rules for your property. We handle the design, installation, maintenance and takedown of your display. If you are unsure about anything specific to your home, call 516-588-8259 and we will talk it through.
What does a Basic package look like on a Floral Park cape?
The Basic package puts C9 LED lights along your front-facing gutters and peaks using commercial-grade clips, and it includes maintenance during the season, takedown and storage. On a classic cape, that clean outline of the front peak and gutter line looks sharp from the street.
Can you light a business on Tulip Avenue?
Yes. We work with commercial properties as well as homes, handling design, installation, in-season maintenance, takedown and storage. Storefronts on Tulip Avenue vary a lot in size and layout, so give us a call to discuss your building and the look you want for holiday shoppers.
Can you set the lights to turn on and off automatically?
Yes. Our Deluxe and Premium packages include a power extension and a timer, so your display turns on at the time you choose and shuts off on its own. If the timer ever needs adjusting during the season, maintenance is included. Just give us a call.
When will my lights come down after the holidays?
Takedown is included in every package, and we store your lights after the season so you do not need space in the attic or garage. Timing depends on our post-holiday schedule, so if you need your Floral Park home cleared by a certain date, call us and let us know.
