Oakdale has a grand past. In the Gilded Age, this stretch of the South Shore was home to estates such as William K. Vanderbilt's Idle Hour on the Connetquot River, and much of that land became the preserve, parks and neighborhoods residents enjoy today. Now the hamlet is a comfortable mix of capes, ranches, colonials and larger homes, with quiet streets that run down toward the river and the Great South Bay. That variety means no two Oakdale displays should look the same, and our Christmas light installers design each one around the roofline, landscaping and setting of the individual house.
South of Montauk Highway, homes near the water catch steady bay breezes and damp winter air, so we attach C9 LED lights with commercial-grade clips and maintain them all season, including bulb replacement. The Basic package lights front-facing gutters and peaks. Deluxe covers the whole roofline, including ridges, dormers and gables, with custom color patterns plus a power extension and timer. Premium adds netted shrubs, wrapped trees, wreaths, garlands and lit driveway borders. We are licensed and insured, typically install within 48 hours of booking, and include takedown and storage after the holidays.

Around Oakdale: Places We Love to Light Up Near
Few Long Island hamlets have as much preserved open space as Oakdale. The Connetquot River State Park Preserve stretches north across former sportsmen's club land, the old Vanderbilt mansion still stands by the river's mouth, and the Bayard Cutting Arboretum sits just across the Connetquot in Great River. Between them are family neighborhoods where rooflines, tall evergreens and waterfront yards make a natural canvas for holiday lights.

Oakdale Holiday Lighting FAQs
Do you light waterfront homes near the Connetquot River and the bay?
Yes. Oakdale homes close to the river and the Great South Bay face more wind and damp air, so we secure every strand with commercial-grade clips and include maintenance throughout the season. If a bulb fails or something shifts after a storm, we handle it. Call us at 631-515-7882 to talk through your property.
I have a large lot with tall evergreens. Can you light the trees?
Yes. Our Premium package includes tree wrapping for trunks and branches, lighted bushes and hedges, driveway and walkway borders, and specialty decor such as icicles and snowflakes. It also includes a full design consultation, so a bigger Oakdale property gets a plan scaled to its size. Call us to discuss the trees you want to feature.
How fast can you install Christmas lights in Oakdale?
We typically install within 48 hours of booking. Oakdale is part of our regular Suffolk County service area, so once your design is set we can usually get a crew out quickly. The closer it gets to December, the busier the schedule becomes, so earlier calls get the most flexibility.
Can you make my display match my home's style?
That is the point of custom design. We can keep it classic with warm white on a traditional colonial, or use custom color patterns across the full roofline with our Deluxe package. Premium adds wreaths, garlands and bows for a finished look. Tell us what you picture and we will build the design around your house.
Is there anything I need to store after the season?
No. After the holidays our crew takes the display down and stores your lights until next season, and storage is included. Nothing goes back into your garage or attic, and your lights come out of storage ready for the next installation.
