Turrets, wraparound porches, decorative trim and steep gables make these houses beautiful in any season, and they are made for holiday lighting. The trick is doing it carefully. Dr. Glow designs Sea Cliff holiday displays that trace the lines of a Victorian home, frame the porch and follow the gingerbread details, so the architecture shows after dark instead of disappearing under a tangle of wire.
Sea Cliff's position on the harbor also means real winter wind, especially on the streets closest to the bluff. We use commercial-grade clips, plan runs that suit an older home's roofline, and include maintenance all season, so if bulbs go out we come back to replace them. Our Deluxe package covers gutters, peaks, ridges, dormers and gables, plus a power extension and timer. The Premium package adds porch garlands, wreaths and bows, wrapped trees, netted hedges and lit walkways, which is ideal for the village's compact, walkable blocks. When the season ends, we take everything down and store it for you.

Sea Cliff is a small village with a lot of personality: Victorian houses on hilly streets, a Gothic-style Village Hall, Library and Museum on Sea Cliff Avenue, and parks tucked into nearly every corner, from Clifton Park to the harbor overlook at Veteran's Memorial Park. The village marks the start of the season with its own community holiday celebration, and a glowing porch and roofline are a natural fit on these walkable blocks.

Can you light a Victorian house without damaging the trim?
We install with commercial-grade clips designed to hold lights securely without permanent hardware, and we plan the layout around your home's trim, gables and porch. Our takedown service removes everything after the season. If you have delicate or recently restored details, point them out when you call and we will plan around them.
Can you decorate a front porch as well as the roofline?
Yes. Many Sea Cliff homes have porches that deserve their own lighting. Our Premium package adds wreaths, garlands and bows, which are perfect for porch railings and entries, along with walkway borders and netted shrubs. We design the porch and roofline together during the full design consultation.
My street is right near the bluff. Will wind be an issue?
Homes on the harbor side of the village can see strong winter wind. We use commercial-grade clips and include maintenance throughout the season, so if wind loosens a run or bulbs fail, call 516-588-8259 and we will come back to fix it.
My lot is small. Is it worth adding landscape lighting?
Even a compact Sea Cliff lot can look great with a lit tree, a netted hedge or a lit walkway, and those touches add depth to a roofline display. The Premium package covers all of them. We will suggest what fits your space during the design consultation.
Do you store the lights between seasons?
Yes. Storage after the season is included. We take your display down, pack it carefully and store it until next year, which is especially handy in Sea Cliff, where many older homes have limited closet, attic and garage space. When you are ready for next season, just call us to schedule your installation.
