Wantagh bills itself as the Gateway to Jones Beach, and it is a classic South Shore hamlet in the Town of Hempstead: farmland that became a suburban community between the 1950s and 1970s, with family homes on tree-lined blocks and neighbors who take pride in their streets. It also has deep roots, with nine of Nassau County's 25 state historical markers and a preserved 19th-century railroad station. When the holidays come, Wantagh homes deserve a display that looks professional from the curb, and Dr. Glow designs, installs and maintains holiday lighting across the hamlet.
Homes closer to the bay and the Wantagh Park waterfront feel more wind and salt air than those farther north, so we secure every strand with commercial-grade clips and include maintenance through the season. Homes with clean, simple rooflines look great with our Basic C9 LED gutter and peak lighting, while larger or expanded homes often suit the Deluxe package, which lights the full roofline and adds custom color patterns plus a timer. Premium adds tree wraps, netted hedges, wreaths and walkway borders. When January arrives, we take the display down and store it for you.

Around Wantagh: Beach, Bay and Local History
Wantagh lives between the bay and the barrier beach. The Wantagh State Parkway carries summer crowds to Jones Beach, Wantagh Park's marina and fishing pier stay open year-round, and the restored railroad complex keeps the hamlet's history in view. Cedar Creek Park sits just over the line in Seaford. In winter, when the beach traffic is gone, neighborhood holiday lights become the main event on local streets.
Jones Beach State ParkThe famous barrier-island beach at 1 Ocean Parkway, reached from the hamlet by the Wantagh State Parkway.
Wantagh ParkA 111-acre county park on the water with a marina, a year-round fishing pier, walking paths and a dog run.
Wantagh Railroad ComplexThe original grade-level station, restored as the Wantagh Museum and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.
Cedar Creek ParkA large county park on Merrick Road just east of Wantagh Avenue, where the Jones Beach Bikeway begins.

Wantagh Holiday Lighting FAQs
Can I have my lights taken down on a specific date after the holidays?
Takedown is included with every package. Call us after the holidays with the date you would like, and we will schedule your removal. We then pack and store the lights for next season, so there is nothing left for you to do.
Our Wantagh home is a one-story. Is the Basic package enough?
For many single-story homes, the Basic package's C9 LED lighting on front-facing gutters and peaks looks crisp and complete. If you would like color patterns, full-roofline coverage or a timer, the Deluxe package adds those. Call 516-588-8259 and we can help you choose.
We live south of Merrick Road near the water. Anything special we should know?
Homes near the bay tend to get more wind and salt air. We fasten lights with commercial-grade clips and include maintenance throughout the season, so if something comes loose or bulbs fail, just call us and we will come out to fix it.
Can you add icicle lights or yard displays?
Yes. Specialty décor such as icicles, snowflakes and yard displays is included in our Premium package, along with tree wrapping, netted bushes and walkway borders. The Premium package also includes a full design consultation to plan everything together. Call us to talk about what you have in mind.
How far in advance should Wantagh homeowners book?
Installs typically happen within 48 hours of booking, but our calendar fills quickly around Thanksgiving. Booking early gives you the best choice of installation dates. Our office is open Monday through Friday 9am to 5pm and Saturday and Sunday 10am to 6pm.
