Old Westbury is one of Long Island's great estate villages, spread across parts of both the Town of North Hempstead and the Town of Oyster Bay, with large lots, long private drives, rolling lawns and specimen trees left over from the Gold Coast era. Properties like these need a lighting plan, not just a few strands on the gutters. Dr. Glow creates custom holiday light designs for Old Westbury residences, balancing the architecture of the house with the scale of the grounds so the display looks elegant from the street and the front door alike.
On an estate lot, the landscaping often matters as much as the roofline. Our Premium package is built for that kind of property: full roofline lighting across gutters, peaks, ridges, dormers and gables, plus wrapped tree trunks and branches, netted hedges, wreaths, garlands and bows, and lit driveway and walkway borders for those long approaches. Every Premium project begins with a full design consultation, and custom color patterns are available. We are licensed and insured, we maintain the display all season, and we take it down and store it when the holidays are over, so the property is back to its winter calm in January.

Around Old Westbury: Gardens, Campuses and Gold Coast Landmarks
Old Westbury's character comes from its open land: formal gardens, polo fields and wooded college campuses that feel more like country than suburb. At the holidays, Old Westbury Gardens hosts Christmas at Westbury House, with rooms aglow with festive decorations and garden strolls. That same sense of grand, tasteful celebration is what many village homeowners want on their own property, and it guides how we design here.
Old Westbury GardensThe former Phipps estate, whose Christmas at Westbury House event fills the Carolean Revival mansion with festive decorations each December.
SUNY Old WestburyA 604-acre public college campus that contributes to the village's open, wooded feel.
Meadowbrook Polo ClubA historic American polo club that moved to Old Westbury after its original fields gave way to the Meadowbrook Parkway.

Old Westbury Holiday Lighting FAQs
Can you handle a long driveway and a large estate lot in Old Westbury?
Yes. Our Premium package includes driveway and walkway borders, tree wrapping and netted hedges, which are the elements that make a large property feel welcoming from the gate to the front door. Every Premium job starts with a full design consultation so we can plan the scope around your grounds. Call us at 516-588-8259 to set that up.
Can you match the lighting to the style of a formal or historic-style house?
That is what custom design is for. We can keep things classic with warm white on the roofline, or build custom color patterns if you prefer. Wreaths, garlands and bows are available to frame entries and windows. We plan it with you during the consultation so the display complements the architecture rather than competing with it.
Do you install on commercial or institutional properties near Old Westbury too?
We serve both residential and commercial clients. If you manage a business, club or other commercial property in or around Old Westbury, call us to talk through the scope, timing and access so we can plan an installation that fits the site.
Who looks after the display if we are away for part of the holiday season?
Maintenance throughout the season is included, so if bulbs go out we come back to replace them. We can also add a power extension and timer with the Deluxe package or above, so the lights turn on and off on schedule whether or not you are home.
What happens to the lights after the holidays?
We handle takedown and storage after the season. Our crew removes everything carefully, packs it and stores it for you, so there is nothing left for you or your staff to deal with in January. Call us to schedule your takedown date.
